Obituary for Eva Alice Quick:
I don't know what paper this ran in, the copy I was given is handwritten.
Eva Alice Quick, daughter of Henry and Leah Capps Quick, was born in
Miller County on October 11, 1874. She passed away September 11, 1961,
at the home of her son Oscar at Quincy, Missouri, at the age of 87
years, 10 months, and 6 days. She was united in marriage to Jacob
Quick on October 11, 1888 and to this union were born ten children:
Mrs. Ella Dickson of Holden, Mo., Walter Quick of Weaubleau, Oscar
Quick of Weaubleau, Willard Quick of Osceola, Lester Quick of Windsor,
and Lyle Quick of Warrensburg. Her husband preceded her in death. Two
sons died in infancy, Amos passed away in 1959 and Sarah in 1952.
She confessed faith in Christ at an early age and united with the
Bollinger Creek Baptist Church. She was a good and kind mother and
grandmother and friend. Her eyesight began failing about 25 years ago
and she was almost totally blind the past seven years. She never
became discouraged, was kind and patient. Besides the above named
children she leaves 56 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and
several great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves three brothers and
a sister: John Quick of Reeds Spring, Ben Quick of Cheotota, Kansas,
Elmer Quick of Weaubleau, Sarah Coones of Reedley, California; and many
other relatives and friends.
