about 1798 in Tennessee.
2nd Eliabeth in about 1800. She was born about 1773 in
Tennessee. 3rd Catherine E. Moore. Born about 1775. They
were married 4 May 1809 in Rhea County, TN.

Died 8 November, 1862 in Greene County, Missouri.

2 Rebecca Owens born 13 April, 1810 in Sweet Briar
Springs, Virginia. Died 27 March, 1885 in Grundy
County, Missouri. She married Joshua Stepp.
2 Phoebe Owens. Born in Rhea County, Tennessee.
2 Andrew Owens Born 4 April , 1812 in Rhea County,
Tennessee. Died 28 June, 1852 in Greene County, Missouri.

2 RICHARD W. OWENS born 16 February, 1818 in Rhea
County, Tennessee. Married NANCY GAROUTTE born 9
April, 1822 in Ohio. Richard died 15 Jan., 1864.
SECOND GENERATION
2-RICHARD W. OWENS
Born 16 February, 1818 in Rhea County, Tennessee. He married
NANCY GAROUTTE, the daughter of James Smith Garoutte and Mary
Babbington Garoutte. Richard died 15 Jan., 1864 outside of
Fort Springfield, Missouri. While walking beside the wagon is
young son was driving, two union soldiers passed by the pair.
They then turned around and shot Richard in the back, more than
likely for being a Southern sympathizer.
+NANCY GAROUTTE was born 9 April, 1822 in Ohio, and died 28 Jan.,
1901 in Greene County, Missouri. Both Richard and Nancy are
buried at Garoutte Cemetery in Republic, Missouri. Richard and
Nancy had 11 children:
3 James L. Owens born in 1843. Died in the battle of Pea
Ridge Arkansas on 27 March, 1862.
3 Andrew Jackson Owens born in 1844. He married Margaret
Moulder on 13 December, 1871.
3 Isabella Owens born in 1845. Died 18 July, 1882. She
married Thomas Chastain. After the death of Thomas she
married John Monroe Walker.
3 Charlotte Owens born 1848. Died 14 August, 1876. She
married Morton Morris.
3 Richard W. Owens Jr. born in 1850. Died on 6 August,
1873. He married Martha Davis.
3 Benisha Catherine Owens born 7 December, 1852. Died 7
December, 1925. She married William Breakbill.
3 NAPOLEON BONAPARTE OWENS born 24 August, 1856. Died 6
August, 1941 in Ozark County, Missouri. Napoleon
married MARTHA "MATTIE" I. HOBBY in 1883.
3 Mary “Moll” Owens born in 1857. She married George Likens.
3 Nancy Elizabeth Owens born 5 May, 1858. Died 12
February, 1924. She married Thomas Toliver Brown on 16
September, 1875.
3 Sampson B. Owens born 1862. Died 1946.
3 Jeremiah “Jerry” Monahan Owens born 1 April, 1863.
Died 17 Jan., 1949. He married Lydia Ellen Porter.
THIRD GENERATION
3-NAPOLEON BONAPARTE OWENS born 24 August, 1856. Died 6 August, 1941
in Ozark County, Missouri. Napoleon married MARTHA "MATTIE" I. HOBBY
in 1883. Mattie was born on 4 November,1860. She died 1 February,
1954. They are both buried in Center Point Cemetery, Ozark County
Missouri. Mattie was the daughter of James Alexander Hobby and Nancy
Jane Weaver Hobby. James was killed by bushwhackers during the Civil
War and Nancy died shortly after him. Napoleon and Mattie had 8
children.
4 Maud Owens born 23 June, 1885. Died 3 September, 1934.
She married James N. Ford.
4 CHARLES OWENS born 24 May, 1887. Died August of 1981.
He married Lula Witt on 23 December, 1906.
4 Homer Owens born 18 October, 1888. He married Etta Jones.
4 Bertha Owens. Married Virgil Graves.
4 Nancy Owens born 25 July, 1892. Died 15 November,
1942. She married Lexa Jones on 17 September, 1911.
4 Willie Owens. Married Retha Amyx.
4 B. Owens. Married Elva Graves.
4 Tressa Owens born 17 November, 1900.
FOURTH GENERATION
4-CHARLES OWENS born 24 May, 1887. Died August of 1981. He married
LULA WITT on 23 December, 1906. Lula was born 24 March, 1888 and died
July, 1977. Lula was the daughter of William Thomas Witt and Edith
Swearingen Witt. Charles and Lula are both buried at Center Point
Cemetery in Ozark County, Missouri. They had 7 children.
5 Edith Owens born 22 October, 1907. She married W. B.
Reynolds on 9 May, 1927.
5 Jewel Owens born 12 March, 1910. She married A. K.
Reynolds on 23 December, 1928.
5 Marie Owens born 17 April, 1913. She married J.V.
Swearengin on 13 July, 1946.
5 FRED OWENS born 24 January, 1918. Married Donnie
Gertrude Breeding on 30 December, 1936.
5 Leonard Owens born 4 May, 1920. Married Claudie Mary
Gaulding on 8 October, 1942.
5 Wilma Jean Owens born 21 November, 1926. She married
Amon R. Herd on 1 March, 1945.

DONNIE GERTRUDE BREEDING b. 26 August 1916 d. 9 December, 2000. Fred

Colonial Bread Company and the family moved around quite abit. All of
them living around the Greene County, Missouri area now. Jerry and
Sandra had 2 girls:
