Mr. John Ezra (Mac) McCowan, son of the late James Monroe and Betty Elizabeth
(Bryant) McCowan, was at the time of his passing 86 years, 2 months, and 4 days
of age. He and his parents moved to Oklahoma and then on to California when he
was 15 years old. He started farming in California and was married to Beulah
Kimbriel in Bakersfield, CA on May 23, 1927. To this union were born 4 children,
3 of whom survive him.
In 1954 they moved to Pahrump, NV where he farmed. They moved the family
to Urbana, MO in 1964 where he continued his farm operation until his retirement
in 1982.
He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of the Urbana
Church of Christ.
He loved to work at the Holiday Fishing Dock on Lake Pomme de Terre, that he
owned for 6 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son: Johnny Monroe McCowan,
2 brothers: Emziesi and Arnold McCowan, 1 sister: Myrtle Haulman, and
2 granddaughters: Kimberly and Melissa McCowan. He is survived by his wife
Beulah of the home, 2 sons: Arnold Duane and wife Nancy of Urbana, MO and
Gary Dennis (Kim) and wife Marilyn of Buffalo, MO, 1 daughter: Barbara Evans
and husband Frank of Buffalo, MO, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren,
and a host of other family and friends who will all sadly miss him.
